CAVALCADE OF KINGS
Saturday 09 January at 17 h 30 - Campo Santo
The cavalcade of the Wise Men in Perpignan ..
Children are encouraged to prepare their wishes to those they love this new year. They are asked to write a beautiful letter or make a beautiful design and come to the Campo Santo, they can with their parents, give these to the Kings who arrive to meet them in grand style on their horses and camels, arms laden with gifts. In the exceptional setting of the Campo Santo, the notes of the carillon at hand, the wishes of children are read to the people of Perpignan amid an oasis of palm trees and lights, populated by animals and masked figures.
Guided by the star to Bethlehem, the three kings, Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar, representing all the peoples of the earth to bring to the child king, gold, myrrh and frankincense. For too long the children here, as is still the case in southern Catalonia received their gifts on the day of the epiphany of the hands of kings who stopped in every village ..

La cavalcade des Rois mages à Perpignan..
Les enfants sont invités à préparer leurs vœux à celles et ceux qu’ils aiment pour cette nouvelle année. Invités à écrire une belle lettre ou faire un beau dessin et à venir au Campo Santo, ils pourront accompagnés de leurs parents, les remettre aux Rois qui arriveront à leur rencontre en grand équipage sur leurs chevaux et leurs chameaux, par les chemins de sable et de mer, les bras chargés de présents pour découvrir le pessebre. Dans le cadre exceptionnel du Campo Santo, sur les notes du carillon tout proche, les vœux des enfants de Perpignan sont lus au milieu d'une oasis de palmiers et de lumières, peuplée d'animaux vivants et de personnages masqués....
Guidés par l’étoile vers Bethléem, les trois rois mages, Gaspard, Melchior et Balthasar, représentant tous les peuples de la terre apportent à l’enfant roi, l’or, la myrrhe et l’encens. Pendant très longtemps les enfants d'ici, comme c’est encore le cas en Catalogne du sud recevaient leurs cadeaux le jour de l’épiphanie des mains des rois qui faisaient escale dans tous les villages..
